None of my andale counters are counting today I *know* that the items are being watched/bid, but the counters are sitting * 0001.. I have an item with 20 watchers and $500 worth of bids, but the counter says the item has one page view... I'm just curious if it's just me, or...
Cheers

Answer
I certainly "hope" it's the counters that are bad because if they are correct this has indeed been a bad, bad day for hits.
Mine have been pretty much just sitting still also. I had one stay at "0" for two days after it had a bid.
Answer
They haven't been counting for a couple of days.
Answer
yeah and the ones for off ebay sites have been sitting still for almost a week
the only way i could get any movement is to change my settings to page views instead of unique visitors
gotta email andale about this i keep forgetting

Some eBay listings may have Counters that appear to be frozen or not incrementing
You may find that the counter on your ad(s) may not seem to increment and in some cases the count is decrementing too. Our engineering team has already got to the root cause of this issue and we have planned a major hardware upgrade and operational changes to prevent this from happening again.
We expect to see significant improvements as we deploy new hardware and make the required changes by an Operations stand point. Kindly bear with us on this.
The counters, which were not incrementing will be fixed by Monday evening. Thanks for your co-operation on this. 07/30/2004 11:07:11 PM PT

As a buyer I have had the andale counters freeze the whole auction, causing me to back out. I also have a problem with andales pics not coming up but maybe 1/4 to half way and the rest of the pic isn't there.
Most of the counters I've seen over the last couple of days have had either 0 or 1 hits-and they've had multiple bids
Answer
I just got back from the lake and checked my counters. I thought this is weird, zero hits on a multiple bid item. Then when I went to my ebay, I had auctions with five people watching with zero hits.
Thanks for the info!

There are 3 ways to advertise on this site..
1. pay here
2. participate in the community, provide your "business" card in your signature file.
3. Work with here (jim*here.net) for some alternative means
Other than that..its a one time "use" the community..
I see you have rules on your site..how about I break 'em??
Double edge sword, isnt' it ??

I don't use counters in my auctions, but yesterday I noticed when I was searching for stuff that auctions that had counters in them were more likely to give me problems when I went to use the eBay shipping calculator.
I don't know how they interact together or why, only that it was happening.
Peace,
Sadie
