Date: 02/06/04 Time: 03:19:34 PM PST

eBay and PayPal have teamed up with the US Postal Service and UPS to deliver even more shipping convenience with our new integrated shipping features. Currently, sellers can buy and print UPS shipping labels from their PayPal accounts. In mid-February, we will introduce a new feature called Online Postage that will allow sellers to print US Postal Service shipping labels with Delivery Confirmation™ and pay for the postage from their PayPal account.
After an item has sold, a seller will be able to print a shipping label from either shipping service directly from My eBay or the Item page. Once the label is purchased, both the buyer and seller will be able to track the delivery status of the package on eBay and PayPal. More detailed information will be available when these features are introduced to the site.
There will be no surcharge for buying UPS labels or US Postal Service Priority Mail® and Express Mail® labels with postage and Delivery Confirmation (which costs $.45 at the Post Office™), and sellers will not be required to offer PayPal in their listings to use this product. Save a trip to the Post Office™ by using Online Postage at eBay and PayPal together with the US Postal Service’s new Free Carrier Pick-up service!
By mid-February, eBay and PayPal together will have a total shipping solution (the eBay Shipping Calculator, US Postal Service and UPS labels, and USPS and UPS package tracking) to help members save time and money, and be able to more easily track the delivery of their items. In March, sellers will also be able to buy USPS First Class®, Parcel Post® and Media Mail® labels.

Answer
If I read this correctly, only Priority Mail and Express Mail can be used?
Worthless to me. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif

Answer
That good old PayPal account will be a nightmare to reconcile at tax time.

Answer
Intriguing, but I'm sure I'll stick with endicia. I've found that all of the website based postage solutions are just too slow for doing any substantial number of packages a week. Nothing I hate more than sitting around waiting for a website to come back.

Now that is good news...then I can stop my Clickstamps account. I've kept it just to save me a trip to the PO now and then.

Answer
Doesn't help much with those packages which need insurance.
Waiting for the day when it, too, can be purchased online.

Answer
Also, some other issues to consider are:
Will this service allow for printing more than one label at a time? (Probably not.)
How about refunds for postage misprints?
Date corrections?
I'll be sticking with Endicia myself.

Notice they don't mention that this free pick-up service isn't available in all areas. If I wanted a pick-up, I'd have to pay $12.50.

Answer
I'm sticking with my stamps.com.
I just don't want ebay being any more involved with my business than they already are.
