Hello Marie's CDs and Online Auctions:
This is your last chance. Your eBay account Exxxxx xxxxxxxxx*aol.com is long overdue. You have received many requests to settle your balance of $1.10.
Your account is now suspended from the User Community. If you use other eBay accounts, they will be terminated.
Won't you rejoin the eBay User Community? If this unpaid balance is the reason for your suspension, then your payment will return you to active status - it's as simple as that. Please make your payment today.
If you fail to respond to this payment request, eBay may use all legal means necessary to obtain payment of this debt, including the use of professional collection services and attorneys.
Please do not reply to this notice as you will not receive a response. You can make an electronic payment directly from your credit card or checking account, or mail in a payment by check or money order.
Making a payment has just gotten easier! Now you can make a transfer from your PayPal account to your eBay account, to pay your seller fees. You can find information and instructions in the payment link below; we also provide step-by-step instructions from the Home page at the bottom of this notice.
Remember, a payment coupon (from the link below) is needed to properly handle all mailed payments.

If ebay does not send out such nonsense, what would all those mass of employees do on a daily basis?

Answer
How long everdue is that, I have never had a final notice, are they clamping down on those of us who don't use credit cards.

I note in passing that there is no option to contest or question the balance due, nor any indication of who to contact if there is a misunderstanding.
Not very smart, but typical eBay.

Just an update to this: I paid the $1.10 a week ago, using the new PayPal link.
My PayPal account was debited immediately. My eBay account has NOT been credited. The above warning still comes up every time I log in.

Answer
Try viewing the full headers on the email that you received. Also, look up ebay's address (it's in San Jose, not Denver). Next, go to eBay's warnings about fake emails. I know all this, because I got the same one. Forward it to eBay.

Marie
I am so sorry to hear about your troubles.
I have already started a community wide fund raising effort and with your many friends and the generous base of eBay users I'm am certain we can raise the $1.10 within no time at all and save you from eviction.
Tell eBay help is on the way.
I know shooting the bailiff seem reasonable but please hold off until at least Thursday.
Since eBay doesn't have funds for a phone, what with the sky high cost of jet fuel and everything, maybe we can raise a little extra and put it towards a cell phone for their office.

How do you know it was a real email? It sounds and looks like a spoof to me. Hmmmm....maybe spoofers have infiltrated the vast security pool at Ebay and are working from within? A buck ten is a lot of money, ya know.

Question:
Why are all these YEAR OLD messages being dredged up from the archives????
