Question
This subject was brought up in another thread and I thought it deserved a thread of its own as I am not sure how it works.
In reading the article posted here about google it said it worked some how in its search by link trades.

slightly OT, but I downloaded the google toolbar and it shows the ebay auctions discussion page as being 0/10!!! ???

Toolbar's PageRank and Backlinks haven't been working reliably for about 6 weeks. Looks like new backlinks are being factored in, but not showing. And PageRank is being re-calculated and affecting the search engine rankings, but not being reflected in the Toolbar PageRank.
Older static pages will show the PageRank that existed a couple months ago-- here's home page shows a 5. But newer and dynamic pages will usually just show a white bar (PR0), but that's misleading.
It's expected that this will all be corrected soon...
