Question
I have bidder from Italy that has been buying quite a bit from me this month. All in US funds. Last night her last payment came in in Candadian funds!! Now I can only accept it if I am willing to take a $15.00 loss....I think not!
It has to be a Paypal glitch. So far no answer from them. I have contacted the bidder as well to have her contact them as well. (sigh)
Anyone esle notice any other weirdness with paypal?
Answer
Yes!
First, as mentioned yesterday, I've been receiving payments, but am not receiving some of the payment notification e-mails.
Second, a lady paid me yesterday, and I received the payment notification e-mail. I processed her payment. Then today, I received ANOTHER payment notification e-mail. Thinking she'd accidentally paid twice, I went to my PayPal account to refund the duplicate payment. But there was only one payment in my account!
We all need to be really careful to make sure our e-mails match up with our PayPal accounts! It's a good idea to do it anyway, but especially right now with all this mess going on.
Answer
The email notifications have *never* been reliable. Also, it's easy to fake them. IMO, you should ONLY pay attention to the info in your account. I print out each payment from my account page, and then I go back over them to make sure I got them all and then click "file selected payements" for everything that has come through, leaving only pending transactions on my account view page. Due to so many insufficient PayPal eChecks, I wait until they have cleared to print them out, check them off, and ship the items to my customers.
The emails, IMO, are useless even when the thing does work. I just delete them.
Answer
Just a weird observation.
Usually I get maybe one e-check payment per week. This week I have gotten 5 . I'm wondering if people are having problems with the paypal balance and are funding from checking by accident??
Just weird.
