Question
My recent 'clean up' yielded a nice hoard of antique & vintage christmas stuff and it's time I sell what I'm not keeping.
I'm thinking of selling this month and not wait for Fall. Is that a good or bad idea?
Is it better to sell Xmas at Flea Markets, or in a Mall Space?
I don't really want to take pictures of this stuff for ebay...I'd much prefer to 'flea' it and get it sold in a few weekends.
Or should I have a garage sale? Seems too early in the season for that though...
Just to give an idea of inventory: About 30 mercury glass fancy-molded/blown & hand painted ornaments... about (5) 5' lengths of 1/2" merc glass beaded strings ... tons of old fancy colored & silver aluminum foil stars that shroud light bulb strings ... bunches of new-old-stock Japan aluminum sparkly gold and silver craft wire 'sprays' and 'snowflake' things that you use to decorate wreaths and garlands ... Plastic Lighted Santa Clause table displays, a vintage Japan Lighted Church, an old German chalkware Nativity Creche...
Answer
I still get much better prices on ebay than shows for my christmas items and they do well all year long. Last ones I had up were mercury and I got way more than I expected to, especially for kugels. Forget the flea market around here, unless you want to sell it for a quarter.
