To Right Click or To No Right Click...

Question
Am I the only one who gets offended at being prevented from using my own browser on my own computer in the manner it was intended? I like to use right click and open a new window to view seller's other auctions. But so many sellers add No Right Click now that I can't. So I don't look at their other auctions. A lost sale, maybe? They'll never know.
Protecting their graphics? Not. I'm tech-challenged, but I can get any pic I want off any page without needing to use right click. And some of the messages they use... Some out and out accuse you of being a thief, some just insinuate... one I found even had to insult my mother! And these people expect you to shop their site or auction??? Not in this lifetime! It's a shame, too, as I really like some of the items I've seen, could likely find more, but if they want to prevent me from shopping their auctions, well, ok... bye-bye
Ok, rant over... I just get ticked at having someone who doesn't even know me (or my mother!!) insinuate that I'm only there to steal their graphics, especially first thing in the morning...

Answer
to open in a new window:
just hold down the shift key, and click your left mouse button on the link.

Answer
I agree. I use right click to go back & get really irritated when it's disabled.

Answer
Hey, thanks imosh! But with so many ways around it, why on earth do sellers risk alienating potential buyers by using the NRC script. It just does not make good sense to me!

Answer
I'm like TerraFreaky...I use the right click to go back and it irritates the sh...er, heck out of me when it's disabled!

Answer
I will also save any pics in the auctions I'm bidding on. I always test right click before I bid, and if it's not active so that I can save the pic I don't bid. I also use the right click to open links in new windows, too-sorry if I can't do that I also don't bid or stay on a website because I hate having to click back and back and run around all over the place I just want that window open. I shouldn't have to learn new tricks to do it.

Answer
We have the right click disabled on pictures only. As everyone knows picture taking is time consuming, and to have some ahole steal our hard work totally pisses us off. (steal- not just to use for personal use, but to use in their auction or website)
so, we watermark all pictures with our dot com, and turn off the right click as well as the microsoft hover button thingy.
right click only prevents a % of people stealing pictures, but the watermark makes them ALL work for it.

Answer
I don't like it when anyone tries to control MY system.. no right click also removes my context sensitive menus. Resizing my browser window to go full screen is another one.. I leave.
On eBay:
No Right Click, You mess with MY abilities to browse, I leave your auction. (not the same if only disabled on the images themselves)
in my eyes is the same as...
In real life:
Antique store sign reads; DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, if you require assistance, please find a clerk. I leave the booth.
I can undestand seeing a sign that states, shoplifters will be prosecuted, But if you try to search me as I enter your store, I'm outta there! You shouldn't alienate your customers for the sake of combating a few bad ones..
That's JMO, and YMMV..

Answer
Imosh-you are also preventing someone who is like me. After several hard learned lessons with sellers deleting pics seconds after the auction ends and me not being able to compare what I receive with what was auctioned I now save ALL pics from auctions I buy. If I can't EASILY do that, then I don't bid. Yes, there are several workarounds but I shouldn't have to do that. I want easy
And there are other functions that disabling right click does AND....If you have ebay auctions, you can use your website somewhere in your picture address-I've gone to several websites and made purchases that I wouldn't have normally made

Answer
I use it on my website, but not on my auctions.
