Question
2 days ago I received an email from Trust and Safety saying they had reviewed the recent bad transaction I had and confirming the feedback would be removed since it was extortion and I had sent them the emails to prove it.
Nothing happened so I sent a follow up question and got a confirmation from the same department that the feedback would be removed.
10 minutes later I get another email saying that the transaction did not meet the guidelines for removal and therefore they would not remove it at all.
I don't care anymore about the neg per se, it's a done deal and I can live with it. What bothers me is eBay talking out of both sides of their mouth.
I called the PS line, and got transferred around, and basically told to go away.
They said I could appeal the decision by email which I did. They also said I could file a feedback extortion case which I had already done (but get this, since the email about the extortion was not sent through eBay's email system, they won't do anything about it and they politely suggested I contact the buyer's ISP - ha! AOL!).
I don't want to waste anymore time and I would normally not have done anything if they had said tough luck to begin with. But this bothers me. I have it in writing they will do one thing and then the next moment they renegue on their promise.
I know I might be naive, but this is plain wrong. It's the principle of the thing, so don't tell me to forget about it. I no longer care about the transaction itself. I've resold the item for a higher price and moved on, but I want the communications I get from eBay to be consistent, is that too much to ask?

Answer
I would send them the email they sent to me with the following note:
Dear eBay,
Enclosed please find a copy of a letter that I received from your company stating that the feedback I received on blahh blahh date would be removed.
This letter was then CONFIRMED a second time with yet another letter from your company saying the same thing. (please see copy enclosed)
I have since then received a third letter from your company (also enclosed) that says the exact opposite.
This either means that
A: you were lying the first time
B: you were lying about your first lie the second time
C: you are lying now because you forgot you lied before
D: all of the above.

I have no advice, but I know exactly where you are coming from!
T'were it me, they would keep getting emails and calls if I had a higher PS level....
At least until I got bored with it all.
I was succesful once getting a Rule redefined and re-communicated to the first line CS reps. It took about 15 email exchanges. Only advice I have there is speak in small words and simple sentences.
Answer
What Tanya said!
Write them again and copy all emails from them.

Just keep sending it back to them and they will get really tired of you and remove the feedback. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

lol Bobby,
If it was me they would get the whole works mailed to them 20x a day until I got it removed.
It is not nice to give something to a person and then take it back.... even if you are a big corporation.

I don't know if I'd say it's too much to ask. The problem is finding a magic lamp with a genie inside to grant the wish. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

That makes me wonder if they are archiving mail so they can read it if they want to???
To most people solutions mean finding the answers but to chemists solutions are things that are still all mixed up...
