I just had this email
Do you know where these dishes come from? Are they an expensive set from a department store? I know they were made in Japan. Sheffield Regency gold.
I found them at the thrift store-how do I know if they came from a department store? Does WalMart sell them, too or something? I really don't know-are there 2 "qualities" of Sheffield?
TIA
Answer
I have no idea about the plates but just wanted to say I don't consider walmart a "department store". Maybe it's my age, but a department store to me is a high end store, in this area Blocks, L. S. Ayres, Parisian, that kind of thing. With my definition, I think being sold in a department store is a GOOD thing, if your emailer thinks of walmart as a department store then it's a bad thing I guess
good luck with your plates!

Answer
Didn't mean to imply that WallyWorld was a Dept store I meant that I thought they were only sold at dept stores-I've never seen them at lower ended stores like Wally but that doesn't mean anything.
Here dept stores are Dillards, Pennys, etc.
