Hi
I guess what is most important in high volume sale is how can you sell more with less overhead costs...
I've been using outsourcing model fo my business to gain more profits by reducing costs..and it's very effective. As of now I've some external folks managing my back office work at much lesser cost than managing people in-house...
I also plan to out source this to outside courtiers to see if this can save me time too... Example to India so that when I sleep my back office wakes up and by morning I have more stuff to review...and I have got few links for the same too...
It also saves me a lot of administrative costs as the external agencies do this in masses, it works out cheaper for them…
Does anyone here think that any other smarter model like this would help the sellers gain more.. or increase the trader's margins?

I'm not quite sure what you are outsourcing, maybe product questions? Wihtout knowing how your end of auction process takes place and how/what you use to process orders I am not sure how I could help recommend other things to streamline your business.

I have 3 people with me to manage the invoicing, priting lables, order consolidations, refuunds managing etc...
Now I pay them about $2500 per month the same I can get done outside in approx. $1000 a month...So I save aout $1500 on each person... and no more management headache....

It all depends on how your system is set up and what software you are using for invoicing etc. What are you refunding? Do you have that many returns or are you refunding for perhaps an excess shipping charge that you feel guilty keeping for profit? Order consolidation should be handled through a listing service like auctionworks(marketworks now) or something of that nature. There comes a time when you need to step back evaluate your sales and concentrate on the ones with the higher profit.
You might want to hire someone to look over these 3 people or promote one and hire a new shipping person while you drop in a few times a week to make sure everything is going smoothly.
