Question
Today I've been trying to make a payment to a seller and have been getting an error message that says "Your session has timed out. Please sign in again". Then I try to sign in to my accounts (both of them) and after entering my email address and password I get "you must be signed in to use this page".
What's up with that? I tried to call PP around 9:30 central time and could only get their automated line, even though it says on their site that they're open till 10:00 PDT Monday through Friday.
So I sent a couple of emails, but don't figure I'll get an answer very soon.
This is my first problem with them since the very beginning when they first started. But it sure is annoying. Good thing I clear out my account every day, too. I'd hate to have it tied up for who knows how long.

Answer
I just logged onto PayPal and didn't have any probs.....
Answer
Well. Time to make the call again. They'll probably tell me to change my passwords. But I'll wait to hear it from them before I do.
Wish me luck.

Answer
I found out by calling Paypal's long distance CS number, and waiting forever on hold, that somehow some settings in my Internet Options Security folder had changed. I didn't change them and no one else uses this computer, so the tech and I have no idea how it could have changed. And it only effected PP. Not my banking or any other secure sites???? Go figger.

I'm not sure if this will be much help or if it is indirectly related but...
One of my customers had been experiencing problems with my PayPal signup pages for a few days (while others were having no problem at all), getting errors such as "we're experiencing technical trouble". I sent her a support email suggesting the following steps to delete cookies & cache in her browser, and it immediately fixed the problem:
------------
Dear (xxxxxx),
In regard to the error that you are receiving, it is possible that this could be an issue with
your browser cookies. Deleting your current cookies could resolve the issue for you. If you are
using Internet Explorer you can follow these steps to delete cookies:
1. At the very top of Internet Explorer click "Tools" and choose "Internet Options".
2. In the "General" tab of "Internet Options" click the "Delete Cookies" button and
then click "OK" when prompted.
3. Next to the "Delete Cookies" button click the "Delete Files" button and tell it
to "Delete all offline content". (this will clear your browser cache)
4. Close all web browsers, then open a fresh one and come back to our page and try again.

She replied that it worked like a charm, so maybe that can help you somehow?
