what is available to research a seller?

Question
I tried deep analysis and may some day ante up the money for it but on dialup it was pretty darned slow. But they did have a function to research a given seller.
Does anyone else offer this ability? I'm trying out andale research but unless I am missing it somewhere or perhaps it will be part of the upgrade? At any rate, it appears to only be able to do search on the title.
Thanks in advance,
Mel-

BJGolle is the person to ask. There's a thread around here somewhere about all the research BJ has put into research products. I believe www.auctionintelligence.com is one.
Here it is

AuctionIntelligence does allow you to do a seller search. Without checking that link, I don't recall if I mentioned in that thread (I know I did in one) that I cancelled my subscription, specifically because I didn't like the way it was pulling in the seller search data.
When I did a check on myself, it pulled in auctions that were still running and included the current bid amounts. I believe it factored in that data for sell-through rates and avg. pricing. When I questioned AI on this, they explained that was normal and that when the auctions closed and I reran the search, it would update the database with the correct information.
Sounds good in theory, but the raw search results didn't change, so I don't know how this information could have been corrected as they claimed.
Anyway, that's why I decided not to spend $9.99 a month on it, because I didn't feel the seller search was entirely what I would have expected it to be. When I see something off in one area, it makes me wonder about the other areas and what I might not be catching.
There is another one called WhizAnalysis. I didn't try that one because I didn't like the fine print:
Update Policy:Registered users will receive all minor upgrades (e.g. from 1.x to 1.y) for free. All major upgrades will also be free from 1 year of purchase. After the first year of purchase, major upgrades may be made at a significant discount
That last sentence concerned me.
All of these research products are very new and I wonder if any of them have the bugs worked out yet.

I just got the most effective spam I have ever gotten from wiseresearch.com - which indicates that they do research by seller.
This was the spiel (and I am catalogs*natronics:
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>catalogs*natronics.com.au on eBay
Here are some facts. During a recent two week period catalogs*natronics.com.au listed 5 auctions in
Collectibles &gt; Postcards & Paper &gt; Postcards &gt; Artist Signed
You had a 80.00% success rate and $40.56 in sales with a $10.14 average sales price. In that same period the eBay category had 5413 listings; a 45.13% success rate; $29,544.61 in sales; and 661 sellers. The top 5.14% sellers made 71.39% of the total sales. catalogs*natronics.com.au ranked #103 in sales; #137 in average sales price; and #130 in auction listings.
Maximize your sales and profits. Let WiseResearch help you make more sales and greater profit on eBay. Get your own answers to questions everyone asks:
When is the best time to start and end?
What mix of listing features produce best results?
How do I set price to make both sales and profit?
Which eBay features produce the best results?
Why do top sellers make great sales and profit?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
The info they have given in the email very much caught my eye - moreso than any other spam I have ever received. Even though the selected category does not interest me for research purposes. They also included a graph about HTML size, but I don't consider that is relevant to sales in that category either.
I actually came over here to ask if anyone knew anything about wiseresearch.com , but figured that this thread was relevant to the info that they had provided.
So has anyone tried their services or know anything about them?
Kind Regards, Kevin

Answer
I just looked at their website and their free sample report. It looks like they pull in a bunch of raw statistics about the category and I don't like the presentation. It's useless for specific product research, unless that falls under the service you pay $4.99 per report for. And that could get mighty expensive.

Answer
$4.99 per report... yep, that would add up. If it is only category analysis, then it is fraction of what Andale is offering for a fraction of the price (if you use it more than once a month).....
Cheers, Kevin
