eBay Billing Error

Question
I just got this email titled Important information about your August 31 eBay invoice. It IS legit.
Dear eBay Community Member,
According to our records, you have a subscription for an eBay Store, Selling Manager, Selling Manager Pro, Seller's Assistant and/or Seller's Assistant Pro. We would like to let you know that due to an internal error, subscription fees for September were not included in your August 31st invoice. In order to correct this error, your next invoice dated September 30, 2004 will contain your September subscription fees that should have appeared in your August 31 invoice, as well as any subscription fees for October.
Please note that you will not be considered past due on your September subscription fees as a result of this internal error. If you pay automatically each month by Direct Pay or credit card, these fees will be included in your payment for your September 30 invoice.
We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely,
eBay, Inc. So far so good, except that when I check my August 31 invoice, I find I was charged on both August 1 and August 31 for all my Store items. That's as it should be. But I'll be waiting to see what September's invoice looks like...
I don't know how widespread the "problem" is/was, so you may or may not receive this email or be affected by it, but keep the email and make a mental note.

I got the same email. I don't think they mean the items, they are talking about the monthly $9.95 fee. But they double billed in July so when there was none there for August stupidly assumed that was them correcting the double bill for July.
Will they ever get their billing system straight?
Jill

Answer
I got it too,

Answer
funny though - I have no July OR August invoice because of their stupid billing errors - but I can get an email about an error on an invoice that doesn't exist ??
I sure hope to get an invoice for September and get caught up and paid up... or I"ll be and

Answer
I've got two stores and I got the email on one ID, but not the other.
Speaking of billing problems....
My last invoice which I received on Aug. 28th said my balance was $125.52.
I just received another invoice last night which said:
Last Invoice: (Aug 15) $125.52
Payments and Credits: $115.64
New Fees: $35.17
Total Amount Due: $276.33
Is this some form of "New Math" that I'm unfamiliar with?

Answer
I got one.
I haven't had major billing problems and don't usually even check my invoice.
I have been aware of the general billing problems and accepted any problems with my account, if they exist, would be corrected when they correct the complete system.
Two months ago I had a BIN sale where eBay NARU'ed the buyer within an hour of the transaction closing. Something to do with a buying binge and incorrect contact information.
The eBay email instructed me to file for a FVF refund. NPB are rare for me so I don't usually even bother but this was a $6.00 fee, so I applied.
I completed the process and was denied the credit. I emailed and asks "Why?.
The response was that the charge did not exist as no FVF was charged for this transaction and, by the way, why was I bothering them when I was a PowerSeller and should use the PS support.
Now I could see the charge showing on my account by auction number and, as part of my little foot stomping ongoing rant against Queen Meg and eBay Nation, I will not apply for PowerSeller status although I'm usually qualified for some lower level of inclusion.
I know it's pretty lame to sit in my cave on the East Coast and refuse to wear the Queen's honors or go to her Annual Ball but whatever.
So I then faced the problem of convincing eBay that I was not a PowerSeller and the charge on my account did exist. From among the available options available I choose "Screw it".
It did prompt me to scan the August statement where I noticed the fees for my Store and the extortion money for SAB was not posted. So part of eBay is broken. What's new?
A while back I came to terms with the fact that eBay charges too much for it's services but the larger cost was really dealing with the constant chaos within some areas of their system.
My expectations for satisfaction are so low and my anticipation of disappointment are so high that little they do any longer bothers me.
It's like a really bad relationship where the sex is good enough that you hold on while waiting for something better to show up.
I accept inappropriate behavior because there is enough money left over after all is said and done that it's still better than any other opportunity available to me.
Guess that's a little short of the type of endorsement that would make me a "Poster Child" for any eBay advertising campaign.
My "reality" version of an eBay success story is someone that holds on though all of the chaos and survives until something better comes along.
Thank you for the opportunity to rant this morning as these seem little sessions to work better than three cups of coffee to kick start my day.
PS - After submitting this post I was returned to the Forum where I started to read the other thread topics. It might seem that "morning rants" is becominga national craze. Or it could just be that misery loves company.

Answer
Your invoice is treating the Payments line as a postive rather than a negative.
If you add the 3 together you get the overinflated #.
That 2nd line should be -.
I'd definitely check your invoice online (if you copied that fromthe email) and see if it says the same thing there... if so something is WAY wrong and they're charging you rather than showing payments!

Answer
Got that email, too.
My August invoice was way too high for someone that listed nothing, and sold nothing out of the store. I stupidly thought that they would fix it whenever they got the system fixed.
Now I must find the strength and patience somewhere to look at the damn invoice and try to figure out WTF they've done now (and in the past).
If I am able to make some sense out of it, how do I go about trying to let those ever so helpful and attentive folks at eBay know?

Answer
Click "Help" in the header - Select Contact Us to start the webform selection.
Then its Selling - and drill down to billing issues.

Answer
I was over billed four times for July and it's still not fixed. UGH. Ebay sucks.
