Trademarks and Ebay User Names

Question
I have another ebay user trying to get me to change my ebay user name bc she has registered a similar name as a service mark for her ballet studio. Now the ebay user name I use is not exactly the same as her word mark and she has registered her word mark as a service mark only not a trademark. i.e her mark represents the service she provides not a line of goods and is in a different geographical area. Her protest comes from the fact that someone called her at her studio looking for me. Now personally I can't understand how that could possibly happen but hey who knows?
Opinions?

Answer
I don't see any good reason why you should have to change your user ID. I'd ignore her.

Gee, I hope the NannyCam people don't come after me!

Answer
I wouldn't even consider changing your eBay username. Tell her to change her service mark for the ballet studio.

Answer
Sure it's not her tradename?

I would tell her to go away. Um, except I don't think I would word it so nicely - LOL

Anyways I've had this ebay name since long before she registered her service mark and the ebay name is different and is used in a different geographical area and in a different line of business. Incidently my ebay name is the only part of my business name that uses that spelling my dba is different but I couldn't get the ebay name I wanted

Answer
I would probably reply to the effect:
"I appreciate your request, and the circumstances. However this has been my established trading name on Ebay since well before you registered your service mark, and it has established good will, so I will not be changing my Ebay ID. The names, whilst similar, are not the same so there is no reason for either business to be affected in any way by the other.
THank you, ME"
I am assuming that she has been polite in her request. If so, there is no reason to respond less than politely.
Cheers, Kevin

Answer
I agree with all before me, excepting this caveat:
If she wants yours bad enough and you could be tempted or have an inclination to go through the process - place a $$$ figure on her desire.
This is assuming eBay would even LET you give her your name ...
