Hi LL. This is the only page I could find with VERO info. There is a link at the bottom of the page which can be used to ask for more information:

Morning LindenLady ~

Having gone through a VERO issue last year, I can tell you that until you actually have a rights problem with another member that you can file and 'win', you cannot just "join" the VERO program.
(Unless maybe you are a trademarked company like Chanel, etc - I imagine they probably can get set up from the start)

Another here member, Maria Stahl is a member of VERO - I'm sure if you PM or make a post to her (she's usually in CLUB99 forums) she could explain the whole process to you in detail

Good luck - cause its a real pain in the bEEhind

As a VERO member, you need to have a trademark at least or other legail way of your item being protected. Placing a little © on your auction page won't do it...
Get legal first.

Get legal first. That's not necessarily true, although you would think it would be. All you have to do is file a Notice Of Claimed Infringement (NOCI) form against a seller to get involved in the VeRO program. The system operates very much on a guilty-until-proven innocent basis and eBay will generally give the benefit of the doubt to the party filing the NOCI. This is without legal proof of copyright or trademark.

Answer
Not sure what proof you could use to prove it's origin? What would one use for legal matters should them come up? It also implies no legal strength as well.

Answer
After researching and going over so many pages of legal schmegal stuff, we have decided that it is just plain not worth the trouble. We don't intend to actively participate in selling on Ebay very much after July 2005 anyway. (that is if we last that long without losing what little is left of our minds.)
We are talking 10 more months here... Thanks bunches for all the information, links and input about VERO. It has been quite a learning experience.

You only need a "good faith belief" or some such phrase and eBay will take down the offending ad. The other party has a right to file a counternotice; then eBay will allow the ad. At that point it's between you and the other party.
The first time you VeRO an ad, you must send eBay a hard copy of your statement (NOCI) by mail or maybe fax is okay. After that, you can just email eBay the auction numbers. I've got a copy of the NOCI around here somewhere. There is a boatload of people selling my copyrighted stuff on eBay. (With resale rights, no less!)

There's a link to eBay's NOCI form on the page I mentioned in my first post.

How to report a listing to eBay
Step One:
If you have a good faith belief that a listing on eBay infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, all you need to do is download our Notice of Claimed Infringement (NOCI) form, fill it out, and fax it to eBay. Download eBay's NOCI form.
You will need Adobe® Acrobat Reader to view and print our NOCI form. If you do not have Adobe® Acrobat Reader, you can download a free copy at Adobe's Web site.
Step Two:
After we receive your first NOCI, we will send you an electronic version of our NOCI form so you can send future notices to us via email. It just seems too easy. It looks like anyone can fill out the NOCI form and have an auction removed.
