eBay's latest cheeseball listing promo

Question
What a joke ....
THERE's MONEY IN YOUR STUFF!
FREE Listing for First-Time Sellers Sept 16-26 I got this email because I signed up a new account to receive one of those free $50 Walmart gift card promotions. It was the easiest thing in the world. Sign up for eBay and place 1 bid. Now I know from where all the new deadbeats have been generated.
eBay is a sponsor of more than 50 of these "free" dept store/restaurant/airline tickets/grocery cards.

Answer
They did a similar promotion on Ebay Australia a two or three weeks ago. I have a buying ID that has never sold and got the email.
Cheers, Kevin

What WalMart gift card promo? I'll do it

Answer
ebay padding their members numbers for the stockholders again?

Answer
I don't understand, you receive a $50.00 gift card for opening a new user ID and buying something?? Sounds great to me! Where do you find out about this????

Answer
OK - I should've known some folks might not know what I was talking about. Hope I'm not posting any advertising stuff here - but since it doesn't benefit me in any way, I'll go ahead.
**Be warned - these offers require LOTS of hoop jumping and careful attention to the details + lots of steps and followups. However, I have to date rec'd bona fide 3 - $50 Walmart cards, 2 - $50 Target cards, $25 RedLobster, $50 Chili's, and $100 in gas vouchers. From my experience, the best offers to complete are ones that have eBay as a choice. All you have to do is place 1 successful bid (read: find an auction that starts at 1 cent so you'll get outbid). The cheapest and least hassle to cancel are Video Professor and Good Cook. Others are either expensive or won't let you cancel. READ THE FINE PRINT! 1-2-3 Click! company offers have given me the highest rate of sucess. The higher the value card, the more hoops you have to jump.

These should get you started. Popups will jump out with more offers and you'll get lots of spam emails ... so sign up an alternate email or get a hotmail account just for these offers.
I keep a little notebook with all the details and when I did what so I can keep them all straight.
Don't bother with Memolink company offers - they are a PITA!!

Answer
Well, I've certainly had enough of this. I've signed up for Cosmotique ($6), Video Professor ($6), Literary Guild, and I don't know what the hell else.... Oh yes, Simple Escapes (what a laugh) and Bargain.Com Now I've got all this crud to deal with... I never did get to the point, of being past step 6... So, I guess I won't get a single card. This is after an hour or more!

Answer
I got one of these emails for my buying account.
To sell they want both a credit card and checking account. And it appears you have to agree to have your fees automatically deducted from one or the other. And if there are insufficient funds in one they will deduct the rest from the other.
Is this correct?
I'm paranoid enough from the last accounting snafu that I am leary about giving eBay access to either.
They offer the option of getting ID verified for $5. But does that eliminate the requirement for auctomatic deductions?
I registered my original account back in 1998, it they had done this back then I don't think eBay would ever have gotten off the ground.

Answer
I'll look into these promos when I have a bit more time. Thanks for information, FLvamp.
