Unlike most of the fake emails, this one looked exactly like a real eBay email. They screwed up my account a month ago. I have paid via my checking account for years. Last month, they somehow erased my info and my account didn't get charged. I kept waiting for it and it never came. Finally I made a "one time payment" with my credit card, because they were showing a past due balance. Then I re-entered my checking account info and it showed that I was all set up again. After I got this email, I went to eBay (not from the link) and checked on my account and it said I still wasn't signed up for auto withdrawal from my checking account, so I set it up again...
Now, back to the email... the URL isn't the same, but it STILL looks like an eBay URL.
I decided to test it...
UserID: bitemescammer
Password: bitemescammer
Sure enough, it logged me in.
Some of them are tricky!!!
And it makes it MUCH easier for them when eBay Billing sucks like they do...

I got a fake PayPal email yesterday saying that I'd added blankety*aol.com (they used the email of the last seller I bought from) as a valid email address on my PayPal and if this was incorrect I should click here and sign-in immediately...
Didn't fall for it, sent it off to PayPal and got a confirmation from them this morning that it was a scam.

So chated with the eBay help, and they gave me the e-mail for the "Safe Harbor" desk--stage 3 down the spiral of bureaucracy.
Apparently someone I know DID get suspended, that that part was right. I don't why I can't still use eBay, though, that seems wierd. The only thing I can think of is that they think the suspened user was actually ME. But even so, I know of lots of people (in this forum...) who themselves have multiple IDs, so what's the big deal?
Any thought?
Answer
You have been pre-indefinitely suspended
That's the worst kind, good luck!!
Answer
I get so many like that and I am ready to change my email address again.
Then I will have maybe a year before they find me.

mst3ktrading, I think you replied to the wrong thread. This one deals with fake suspension phishing scams and is rather old. Whereas you started a thread very recently about your real (and probably unfair) suspension.
