Question
About a week ago I tried signing up to be a trading assistant and kept getting this error message: "We're sorry, but we were unable to carry out the requested operation. Please try again later." I posted on the TA discussion board and didn't get an answer. I went to eBay live and got no answer. Back and forth with customer support got me many suggestions...try clearing your cache, maybe it's your computer...blah, blah, blah. I tell customer support nothing is working and I'm trying on 3 different computers. Last night I get this for an answer: "Members who have had auctions ended can not become a Trading Assistant. My apologies for the inconvenience this may cause." Okay...nowhere in the TA qualifications does it state you don't qualify to become a TA if you've had an auction ended by ebay. I have over 1700 positives with a 99.8% feedback rating. About 6 months ago I listed a Playboy magazine in the wrong category and they ended my auction. Now I am forever penalized? Does this seem right? Why is it that they will allow a seller with a 50+ feedback score and a 97% feedback rating to become a trading assistant? Even worse, why allow a person with 2000 feedbacks and a 97% feedback rating to become a trading assistant? What is wrong with this picture??????? Is there anything one lowly little individual can do to change the powers that be who made this wacked out decision????
Thanks,
Nancy
Answer
eBay recently celebrated its ninth anniverary. This is eBay's clubhouse. If you want to play in the clubhouse, you need to play by the rules created by a mentality typically found in a 9-year-old.
Perhaps you can create a new ID... and apply again in a few months.

Unbelievable!! Guess that lets me out too (& 50 million other people)

It's all about Ebay.....
Not about sellers....
Not about buyers...
It's all about EBAY!
Answer

"if they could figure out a way to manage to get 200% of your selling price and still have you list they would"
That would be funny if it wasn't true.
Answer
Yes the rules change when they feel they might lose some money. Maybe they should think again as they may start losing buyers/sellers if they continue to not care about us
ebay could careless about their members and I'm seeing this more and more as long as they get the insert and final sale fee they are happy. They don't care. They should as they need people like you to use their site.
I found a new site that you can tell your stories and also help build a better auction site. go to [ link removed ], We do not allow advertising on here, we also require a notice of affiliation, please read our user agreement
