Question
I have this bidder who got 24 of my buy it now items (5 separate item nubmers) for a total of $59.86 on 6/30/04.
I heard nothing from her until this email arrived this morning...
Regretfully, I do not intend to purchase the
items I previously selected. It is unfortunate that I
was unable to view the total of of my order prior to
having already "purchased" them. Once, I saw the
total for the amount of ribbon that I need to
purchase, I decided against that particular order. I
did not realize that I had technically "bought" the
items before even providing payment information, nor
do I agree with this procedure. In any event. I
wanted you to know that I will not be completing the
transaction.
Thank you,

I researched this bidder and she has only bid on these items of mine and one other item for $295.00 which she got doing "buy it now" on 6/26/04. She just got positive feedback for that purchase on 7/11/04. She only has 1 feedback. I'm assuming that she must have sent her payment in for that item.
What should I do with this bidder??? How should I respond??? Feedback.... Nuetral or Negative?

Answer
Sounds like she is new and dosnt understand the process
I would file for my fees and say we mutually agreed not to complete the tranasction
I wouldn't leave feedback
Answer
I wouldn't even reply to her email. There is no point in engaging in dialog with her. Just do what you need to do regarding filing for your refund of fees.
I know if it were me, I wouldn't even discuss it with her, I would just do what I had to and move on. You never know, sometimes when potential deadbeats get an email from ebay they decide that they want the items after all.
Answer
Boy doesn't this just bite you
I hate these kinds of bidders. If you do the mutual agreement (after waiting 7 days), you would get your FVF's immediately but no possible refund of the insertion fee. Of course you would be done a bit quicker with this idiot transactions too.
But for me I would go ahead and send an email to her indicating that in order to receive a partial credit from ebaY I will need to file non pay with them but will not leave negative feedback. That way you can relist the items (with a possible refund of insertion fees if they sell the second time). You may even want to provide her the 'opportunity' to pay your fees in order to avoid the 'dings' against her ebaY account but that's another story
Answer
Sorry, I take the hard line. I would not "mutually agree to cancel". I would start the NPB process and she would get negative feedback after I filed for the FVF.
People need to be held accountable IMO.
Notice this one line of hers:
I did not realize that I had technically "bought" the
items before even providing payment information, nor
do I agree with this procedure.
That's the way it works on eBay! You buy and then you provide your payment information. Seems like she understood that with the other item(s) she received feedback for, right?
Answer
Same here. She either isnt' the kind of bidder we need loose on ebay or she's playing you.

Answer
if you have multiples of the item, do a regular "did not send money" npb
if these are one onlys, what I do is file one regular "DNSM" npb and give her her black mark then "mutually agreed" on the rest so I can get them relisted....
and this would be the one rare occaision where I would leave a neg.
Answer
Thanks for your opinions...
I guess when I read her email message, she just came off as a bit arrogant to me... As if it was my fault that she misunderstood ebay procedures. It was pretty clear that she wasn't putting these itmes in her "shopping cart". I might have been understanding if this was just one transaction, but 5??? I think she knew very well what she was buying. My thinking is this is just a plain 'ole case of buyers remorse

View her total? She couldn't add it up herself...she had to wait for it to be done for her?

It's been about two days since I bought something on eBay, but if I remember correctly, the page with the "submit" button explains clearly that YOU ARE MAKING A PURCHASE.
I'd NPB her and neg her. That's what she deserves IMO.
Answer
The whole NPB & FVF format has changed.... Now I gotta learn something new.
