Hi, I am planning on Legal Separation and wanted to know if my medical coverage can still be continue in my husband's insurance by his employer? I know that the insurance would decline coverage after divorce but not sure if my med coverage will be rejected by the insurance company after Legal Separation???? please help.

Who set the definition of Eligible Dependent? The Med insurance company or his HR department?

I have no way of knowing that. Could have been either. Could have been a combination of both. Could have been someone else altogether.
But it doesn't matter. Regardless of who determined the definition of an eligible dependent, once it is established that's what they have to go by.
