In New York is a husband legally obligated to provide health insurance for a wife? Or is it just an accepted fact that a husband will provide for the family (wife)?
Answer
To the best of my knowledge there is no law in any state that a husband must provide health insurance for his wife, or that a wife must provide health insurance for a husband, or that either of them must provide health insurance for the children. Barring a court order requiring any specific person to provide health insurance for any other specific person (such as a divorce or custody situation) it is not a legal matter at all - it's for the individuals in question to decide.
