life insurance/probate

Question
I live in Colorado, and I am confused about when life insurance benefits are included in the deceased's estate, and under the rulings of probate court. If a life insurance policy has a clear beneficiary, is it still considered a part of the policy owner's estate?

Answer
No it is not considered part of the policy owner's estate.

My response:
That is a correct statement. The policy money, at the death of the policy owner, bypasses the Estate of the policy owner and is paid directly to the Beneficiary of the policy.
