I have insurance on a Visa card for death, disability, unemployment. Well I am now unemployed and want to file a claim to have my monthlly payments covered. Will this affect my credit rating in anyway, what things may I come up against form the insurers do you think if any.

It should certainly not affect your credit rating. That is why you bought the insurance, for just those possibilities. So file the claim and protect your credit by not having any late payments.
