Question
I have had "Medi-Gap" insurance from United American for 9 months which costs $218 a month. During this time I have had hip replacement surgery and rehabilitation.
To date the insurance company has only paid for 2 small bills.
I am not satisfied with this insurance and want to cancel it.
If I do is the company obliged to cover the remaining unpaid medical expense? I live in Tallahassee, FLorida.

Answer
The are obligated to pay any COVERED expenses that took place before the date of cancellation. They are not obligated to pay for any services that take place after the cancellation and they are not obligated to pay for any services which were incurred before the date of cancellation but which are not payable under the policy.
