Question
florida
my employer has group coverage under blue cross/blue shield.
it covers 2 counties. my county does not have hmo's but the other does. i am covered under a ppo. the employer has decided not to help pay the premiums for my county only because they are so expensive but is still covering the other county's employees. is this legal? it seems very discriminatory.
Answer
Can't say definitively as I am NOT a FL lawyer, BUT employers are allowed to "discriminate" so long as it is not based on race, color, creed, age, sex, veteran status, etc.
That one costs more is cost based, and sound business, not discrimination in my book.
