I have heard that medical insurance companies cannot require dependents under the age of 25 to be full time college students to be eligible for medical insurance coverage. Is this true?
Answer
Not unless Texas law is very different from the law of the other 49 states.
The insurance carrier is free to set the limits of eligibility as they please. I am not aware of any law that says they cannot require a dependent to be a college student in order to be covered.
