MY DOG AND HIS CALVES

Question
THE GENTLEMAN NEXT DOOR FOUND ONE OF HIS CALVES DEAD. THERE WERE SEVERAL DOGS HELPING THEMSELVES TO THE CALF, INCLUDING MY OWN DOG. THE OWNER DID NOT SEE THEM KILL THE CALF, BUT THEY WERE EATING IT. THE OWNER IS HOLDING ME RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE CALF. I DON'T FEEL TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE. THIS IS RURAL ARKANSAS AND I'M FROM TEXAS, SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY RIGHTS OR POSITION SHOULD BE.

Answer
I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.
IF he didn't see it, and dogs normally roam, he has no right to sue to you.

Answer
Thank you for responding to me question. I feel a lot more relieved. This gentleman has a reputation that implies he is not willing to compromise in any way. Thanks again!
