Insurance agent falsifies info on application

Question
Mississippi - our agent falsified info to questions on our application, from lying about the year our house was built, to the year we purchased it. Is this legal?

Answer
The year that your house was built could have simply been an estimate, and a mistake for the year of purchase. However, why did you sign the application if you noticed these "mistakes"? Also, the underwriter hires a 3rd party company to inspect your home, either before the effective date, or shortly after, in order to determine if the risk is acceptable.

Answer
Is this legal? Of course it is legal. Contact the agent and ask that the MISTAKES be corrected.
Wow, that sure was simple, huh??

Wow, that sure was simple, huh?? Yeah, there's more to this story. Mistakes happen, and they shouldn't affect a claim unless it was misrepresentation. So, what's the REST of the story?
