i provide full insurance

Question
What is the name of your state? KY/USN
i provide full insurance for both of my children through the military provider. my ex wife also has state medical coverage for my daughter. my ex uses both insurances, mainly if 1 will not cover the other...my daughter's PED does not accept the military insurance, but he does take the state coverage...well, the medical ins has been sending co-payment reimbursement checks for the visits my ex uses my ins for...the other day i got a call from her saying that the dr says the co-pay checks are his money, and that i apparently owe him money...my ex and i think that the dr is double-dipping, as in caliming his services through the state and through the navy...isn't this wrong? and if i pay the co-pymt, the mil ins reimburses me anways, no matter what doctor i use...now, even though he refuses the ins, he wants the money...is there a way i can make him giveme the billing details for my daughter? and will the bill show if he billed both companies, or is there a chance he'd only send me a bill for 1 coverage? this dr was mine when i was a kid, so he knows my family, and its an extremely small town, so unfortunately it wouldnt be unheard of if he were double dipping...my ins doesnt actually keep financial accts of visits...so they cannot help me on this...
any advise is helpfull...thanks in advance...

Answer
I'm not sure that I totally understand your question, but if you pay your copay to the doctor, you don't have to pay it again after you get reimbursed for the first payment.

any advise is helpfull...thanks in advance... You should let everyone here know that 2 of you are using the same screenname because we often look at the history. That being said, There should be no co payment if the child is receiving "state medical aid" however the State may have several other underwritten insurance plans for children and these might require a co-payment, I'm not sure specificaly what your orders say and what the plans say re when there are 2 plans available. The doctor is entitled to his co-payment and to receive full payment if he is giving a discount. You may want to check with the plans as to their policies re these issues.
