The company I work for has changed companies for our disability insurance.
My question is, we supposedly have insurance as of 1/1/06, but nothing has yet been taken out of our check. Supposedly, in March they will take out payment from our check for coverage all the way back to January.
Is this legal? How do I know I really have had disability coverage back to January?
Any help would be appreciated.

Why wouldnt it be legal? Call the new company you have coverage through to verfy your eligibility.

If you had coverage effective as of 1-1-06, you would have to pay for your coverage starting back from that eff. date.
