Question
What is the name of your state? AR
I've been on Cobra from my ex-husbands Company since December. I signed up from a divorce. The deductible was $250. I received a letter saying they were changing from BCBS to BCBS Luminous. It mentioned nothing of the change of the deductible only that my monthly payment would be lower. Then I got my EOB from the Doctor that said my deductible was $1500 (in February). When I contacted the Company they said COBRA should have notified me. COBRA said BCBS Luminous should have notified me. BCBS Luminous said the Company should have notified me. I would have at least checked out other companies rather than pay a high monthly premium with a $1500 deductible for just me! Any advice? Do I have a recourse here for something?

Q: Any advice?
A: I would have at least checked out other companies rather than pay a high monthly premium with a $1500 deductible for just me!
Answer
I disagree with everyone.
When you were notified that the plan was changing, it was YOUR responsiblity to inquire as to any changes to the plan, not to assume that the same benefits would continue for less money.
Answer
That's the point. I was never told the deduction was going to change or I would have checked out other companies. Shouldn't I have been notified? Do they not have a responsibility to give me that information?

A: You were notified that the plan was changing. Read cbg's answer again.
Answer
They told you that the plan was changing. They told you that the price was going down. Common sense should have told you that you'd be getting less benefits for less money. When was the last time you heard of a policy that reduced its rates but continued offering the same benefits?

Gregory Peck told me on a Beach... and then I woke up.
