Question
What is the name of your state? Florida..
After the hurricanes , I submitted my home insurance claims and there is something called recoverable depreciation, The insurance company said that the repairs must be made before I can receive the money. Now-here is the question. The estimate that I originally submitted to them for the largest job was approx $35,000 and they held back approx $4400 for the depreciation. I have now found a very competent company who will do the same work for $15,000. Can I submit their invoice and collect the $4400 due me or is the $4400 based on the original $35,000? Need an opinion as to whether I should submit anything more to the insurance company or call it quits and not try to recover the depreciation.
Thank you..
