My house melted

Question
What is the name of your state? Nebraska
Recently me and my family went on vacation down to San Antonio for 1 week. When we arrived back home, I opened my door and it was approx 200 degrees in the house. All of our blinds had melted, all the candles in the house melted onto a lot of our property. It fried my computer monitor, and boiled my daughter's fish to name a few. After having all the windows and doors opened for approx 1 hour I called 911 by the request of my wife. They arrived and the house was still sitting at 130 degrees. I got a heating and air guy out there and he said it was a faulty thermostat. I've filed a claim however my insurance company is telling me that my personal property is not covered due to melting not being a 'Named Peril'. They said had a flame broke out it would all be covered. My question is has anyone ever seen a case like this before? And how should I proceed to get my personal property replaced?
Thanks in Advance!

**A: what do you mean how? Use cash, check, credit or debit card.

Answer
No more along the lines of should I get a lawyer and file a civil suit against the thermostat company or would it be a waste of time? The house was built only 3 years ago.
