Question
What is the name of your state? TN
hello, i'm on my husband's insurance plan and now i'm pregnant. it's only 2nd month, so no much problems, but it's a time to find a specialist for me to watch me during pregnancy and delivery. my husband and me want to move in another city and change job, but we'll be able to get insurance only in about 60-90 days, which is not the problem as we can buy insurance for this term - the problem is that my mother-in-laws is afraid that if i go to the specialist now, being insured, this doctor will have to state so later and at the time my husband can get insurance from his new company, the insurance company won't insure me because they know i'm pregnant, which means i have to visit doctor anyways and they wouldn't like to spend the money. is that true or there is nothing to be afraid of and i can go to the specialist?
thank you
Answer
There is nothing to worry about. Under the law, employer-sponsored group insurance CANNOT be considered a pre-existing condition.
