Health insurance from two employers

Question
Is there a Texas or federal law that states an employee may not have health insurance from two different employers? For instance, the person works for company A and has health insurance from company A. She also works for company B and has health insurance and dental insurance from company B. Is that okay? And does it matter if company A is a state orgainzation and company B is a county organization? Thanks!

Answer
you can have as many insurance policies as you want.
Just make sure carrier A and B know about each other so that they can figure who pays first and who pays 2nd - called coordination of benefits.
Good luck

Answer
There is no Federal law and no law in any state that makes it illegal to have two insurance policies.
However, the two policies combined will not pay more than the total amount of the bill, and there is no guarantee that the secondary carrier will pay the full balance left by the prim*a*r*y carrier. It is often not cost-effective to have two policies. She should check very carefully as to what each of them will pay before committing to paying the premium on two policies.
