Tough Question, worse situation

Question
What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Washington
I went pro se trying to prove a meretricious relationship and lost it. I was with the woman for 20 years (she passed away from cancer 1 year ago) We were married in front of a legal justice of the peace and recieved a certificate of it, with my wife taking care of all paperwork, it never got filed with the court so we were never legally married in the eyes of the law.
My wife was on my health insurance policy for to entire time of our relationship stating her as my spouse and she even signed my name on the beneficiary form. She used this "certificate" as proof of marriage to the insurance compay. She suffered 14 years of cancer, breast, colon, cervical and my insurance paid for all of her care til the day she died.
If it was deemed in court that I was just a "roommate" and no meretricious relationship took place. Now what would be the procedure if the insurance company found out about this type of fraud? Would I be held responsible? I knew she was on my health insurance, but I thought we were married. Would I be held responsible in repaying for the cost of her benefits?
If you like to read more on this, just search my name.
Thanks
