My pharmacist told one doctors office that another doctors office had prescribed a medicine for me in the past. Is this a violation of the HIPPA Law?
I thought my information was confidential since anyone could have made the call and not a real doctor's office.

Usually a physician's office calling a pharmacy will identify themselves with the physician's DEA#. This is how the pharmacy knows exactly who they are speaking to, and what information can be shared. Without giving this DEA# for identification puposes etc. a pharmacist will not just start giving out vital information.
