Question
undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Texas
If you pay a retainer fee to an attorney, and he provides
no legal service in the span of six months, at what point
may a client request the return of his retainer fee?
Answer
It depends on the nature of the retainer fee agreement. If it was a "pure retainer" -- and not dependent on future services -- you've paid to have the lawyer available if needed and nothing is coming back. If it was an advance deposit aganst fees that may be payable, you should be able to get it all back, if no services were requested or performed.
