How can I be sure new plan will cover maternity costs?

Question
What is the name of your state? KANSAS
A few months ago I started a new job. I declined health benefits for my son and I because my contract was only supposed to last 3-4 months and I figured we could go without coverage for that long. My contract is now “open ended” meaning that it can go on for quite some time. I’m about to get married which qualifies as a “family status change” so I can get on my companies insurance now if I want. My soon to be husband and I will be expanding our family very soon. The coverage that I will be getting DOES cover maternity benefits and doesn’t have a waiting period or preexisting clause listed in the documentation that I sign and send in. Nor does is ask any questions about a preexisting condition. Some of the other insurance plans that I’ve looked into getting ask you a few questions upfront 1 – do you have AIDS, 2 – Do you have high blood pressure, 3 – are you or any dependent currently pregnant.
My question(s)….
Can I feel confident that the insurance company won’t throw me a curve ball once I’ve already signed up? Point blank….I will be getting pregnant soon and I want to be covered. The plan through my job sounds like it will cover me but how can I be sure? Don’t they legally have to disclose what they will and won’t cover upfront?

Answer
Call the insurance company.

Answer
I suppose I could do that, I just don't want to get any "misinformation" because they don't want to cover the soon to be pregnant lady.
Thanks for the response!
