Question
What is the name of your state? Ohio
My girlfriend has a 4 year old daughter. Their Medicaid insurance ran out. She went to the Child and Family Services office and they told her that the $9.90/hr. that she makes now is too much for her to get insurance for the 2 of them through Medicaid. Other than paying $300/month at her work for insurance, what are her other options?
Answer
This may or may not help. I live in Kansas and we have something called "healthwave". You can make up to 12.00/hour and still qualify for healthwave. Perhaps Ohio has a healthwave branch. Do a google search for "health insurance", you can get quotes online and sometimes they're not as bad as you'd think.
Answer
In NewYork State - we have Child Health Plus, which is a "sister" of Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
It is sort of a Medicaid Managed Care, but it's thru the HMO - and it's very reasonable priced.
