Terminating Health Insurance

Question
What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? PA
My husbands company is going to terminate me from the Health Insurance Plan that I've been on for 13 years, because I can get Health Coverage through my employer. My husband will still have to have "family" coverage to cover my college student daughter. Can a company do this?

Answer
It is not only legal, it is becoming quite common for spouses who have access to other insurance to be excluded from coverage.

Answer
so much for sitting down and figuring out who has the better plan then!
The cost of healthcare is so expensive that no carrier wants to do anything over and above anymore.
The only way you could probably get around that is if both employers offered the same carrier************** in which case it would just be a matter of premium cost.

Answer
Even if both employers offer the same carrier, either plan can still legally exclude spouses who have access to other insurance, or dependents at all. Eligibility requirements are set by the employer, not by the carrier.
