My Pain Specialist said that I would have to go to a Dr. that they request for an assessment/physical before he would fill out the paperwork as to if I am disabled or not. My problem is this: I have a chronic bladder disease and I am assuming that they will ask me to lift things etc....what if on that day I am able to lift etc....I have debilitating pain and symptoms that are somewhat eased by pain medications that I take 24/7. I can't really stand for very long (15 min.) or sit for very long but, how can that be determined by a physical?? I just want to know if it would be worth going thru at this point? I filed about 3 months ago. Thanks

There are several ways a doctor determines this.
They often leave the room for some time, and come back in.
When he/she returns,
Is the patient sitting, standing, or laying on the exam table having serious pain? How severe is pain?
Example;
Patient is laying down, requesting/taking morphine in front of the physican, then a short time later actually falls on floor, and is found unconscious with acute drooling...
DI Findings,
Patient complains of felling no pain after medication is used, and therefore pain has been "cured", with "reasonable accommodation" patient can now resume "own occupation" of helicopter pilot...
