Question
CaliforniaWhat is the name of your state?
This government program is for Pregnant mothers. I paid $50.00 start up fee, sonogram showed early signs of miscarriage, so I requested $50. refunded and policy canceled. 2 weeks later received welcome packet with health card and payment coupons. One week after that experienced full blown labor/miscarriage. Blood loss so great had to rush to ER. Notified hospital of cancelation request. They called and verified coverage and got payment authorization. I immediately paid full year premium in one lump sum. 1 week later needed 2 units of blood transfused 2 weeks later D&C. To date no money refunded and all monies paid have cleared my bank account. Told by AIM program, policy never activated due to cancelation. Now being billed for all 3 visits to hospital totaling over 20 thousand dollars. Have appealled but in the meantime, worried sick.
Answer
I'm not sure I understand your post, but my guess is your payment of the premium confirms you had the insurance to begin with. Your choice to appeal was the correct course of action and the only thing you can do is this point is wait for the outcome.

Apply for emergency Medicaid to cover the miscarriage costs.
Sorry for your loss
