Can anyone please direct me to the best bonus points promotion for Starwood AMEX card right now? There used to be a banner ad on flyertalk.com for 10,000 points, but I'm not seeing that anymore.

Where did you see the Comp Gold offer?
It's very odd, I guess United is snooping the amex applications somehow?
I applied for the SPG Amex. When the card came, it did not have an SPG G# with it.
called SPG and they gave me a number. OK fine.
Then in the mail comes a SPG gold card directly from United (odd since I no longer have and status on united)
I assumed there was just one SPG account, but Amex was posting points to a different account. Called up SPG and had them merge the accounts into one, and called Amex to get them to put the new points into the UA/Gold one so I get the best of both worlds (as long as it works)
The United account was setup to immediately deposit points to UAL miles, but SPG had no problem removing that from the account...
