I have seen a few posts here where people were unable to increase their Professional Credit Line by tapping into their other Citi cards because one was a personal card and one was a business card. I had tried once in the past with no luck as well.
I just had a 0% promotional period on a Chase card expire. They were unwilling to extend it even when I threatened to close the account. On a whim I tried calling Citi. I was able to increase my Prof limit from $3200 to $10,500 by taking $7300 from my Diamond Preferred card (which had been at $9600). Interestingly the agent said he could not allocate from my PP, but I assume that's because it's only 3.5 months old.
Now I can take advantage of the 12 month 0% $0 fee balance transfer offer on the Prof card. ^

personal -> professional has usually not been a problem.
professional -> personal has never worked, to my knowledge.

I believe that the Citi Professional card is "Professional" in name only: I have one, and it's issued by their personal, not business division: just like my Diamond, and Premier Pass Cards were.

could be true; nevertheless, to my knowledge, no one here or at FatWallet has ever successfully reallocated professional CL to a personal CL.
