Thanks,
You have to list your SS # on all apps. so I'm sure it wouldn't work. Have not tried though.

Answer
Yes I have tried it. They match the name and address of the credit card application with the name and address on file with the FF program. And if they are not a match it is a no go.

Answer
Thanks for all your responses. :)

Answer
i tried it for my mom who has a different last name but same address and it worked once, not sure if i was just lucky.

Can you name the card? I think each bank has its own policy...

What's the worst that can happen? The airline determines you're trying to screw them and they shut down your FF account and take the miles.

That won't happen!

Simple. Rather than spreading miles/points between two accounts, I want to consolidate CC sign up bonuses into my accounts. Since my DW doesn't fly so it takes longer to accumulate miles/points in her accounts.

Answer
Unfortunately, not so simple. This would violate the terms of 'most every FF program I know about. And, most programs are very touchy about such efforts. You could lose your accumulated miles.
Why not build up both your account and your spouse's by both getting some credit cards. Then have a nice trip First Class together. @:-)

Simple meant for the reason why I want to do this but it looks like no go in most of cases. IIRC, I read some thread that some FTer wanted to switch the FF account number to different number.
BTW, ever since we had kids, we couldn't effort to redeem miles for C/F tickets anymore. Instead of 2 F awards tickets, we have been redeeming 4 coach tickets. Besides, I think getting 4 F/C award tickets on same itinerary could be a challenge. :D
