Answer
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. sorry, what does NH stand for?

Answer
It's the Two Letter airline code for ANA. If ANA is your main airline out of Japan it's the way to go. They even have a US domestica Visa you can use to keep earning miles if you move to the US.
However, you may also want to look at JAL (JL) cards. JL runs a parellel elite program. One is traditional Millage Based. The other offers special bennies for credit card holders. Card holders of the Japan based card can get base elite status on JL/One World though the card (basically costs you 5000 miles to get base Elite if you have thier card). And IIRC it's much easier to get mid and top teir status in One World if you have JL's Japanese card.

NH = Nippon Helicopter
Former company name of All Nippon Airways.

Answer
JAL miles arent bad compared to Asiamiles, although upgrades seem to be more
JAL has Emirates as a partner, while Asiamiles has Gulf as a partner
