What is the difference between Citi MasterCards? What is a Platinum, Platinum Select, World, World Elite MasterCards???? Should I care if I have a Platinum Select?

World Elite -- Citibank does have not have cards yet....highest level of MC
World --- Most cards are at this level. They come with some benefits similar to Visa Signature

All MasterCard Gold Cards have several core benefits. This is mandated by MasterCard. The same is true for Platinum and World Cards. See MIA's link.
With regard to Citi, each card has different benefits depending the card type. You really have to read each card. There is one subtle point that you will see on the Citi website:
Citi World Cards have a limit and high balance of ZERO on your credit report. This can adversely affect you credit score if you have a balance.
If you do not need the benefits of one of the Citi World Cards, get a Platinum Card. Citi rarely offers Gold or Standard MasterCards with the exception of students.

Platinum Slelect is just Citi's term for a Platinum level MasterCard.
