This needs to be posted in the amex forum.
From a moderator perspective, the American Express Membership Rewards forum is really just for discussions related to that specific product. Other AMEX products, such as this Hilton one, seem to fit best here.

They should really call this the "35K-ish promo". The 10K seems pretty normal fare for hotel cards right now. The 30K advertised for the $5K spend is really only 15K, since you would normally earn 15K points anyway for $5K in purchases.
Probably not a bad offer, but not as good as I thought when I read the title.

Thanks for clearing it up. I was not sure if all Amex products should go to Amex MR forum since I've been seeing AMEX SPG threads there also.
On a side note, I would think all Amex discussion should be under the same forum. Should we "expand" the current Amex MR to cover all Amex?

I agree it is annoying trying to find all the amex stuff. The name should be changed to amex cards and programs so it would be easier to find.

This is a good question, one which I contemplated when I read this thread and one other recently. I'll look into this further.
