Hello all,
Quick question for all the Merrill gurus. I understand that to get to Merrill+3, you have to spend $50k in 1 calendar year. My question: once you are at the Merrill+3 level, how long do you stay there? From the day you hit the $50k spend requirement until the end of 12 months? Only until the end of the calendar year and you are back to 0 on Jan.1? Until the end of the calendar year plus 12 months?

When you reach $50,001.00 or more in spending you are Merrill +3 and it is good for the balance of the year that you are in and the entire next year until the 31st day of December.
For example if you qualify today, you will be +3 until December 31, 2008.

Nope. I have AMEX Platinum, Citi Chairman, and DL gave CR memberships away until last year. I just need AA for occasional use. However, I think that my money is better spent..
1. On Merrill+ to reach $20k and status match
2. Then on DL Platinum to get the 20k qualifying/lifetime miles
3. Then on Chairman to get the 2-to-6 TY points per $
I am starting to like the ThankYou points for gift card and merchandise purchases. I have too many miles and points (for now).

Tell me how you got free CRC memberships. I managed to get both AC and CRC the other night. I agree on switching to DL Plat after 50k, that is also what I do for anything that I can purchase on AX or when they have triple or double miles. Other than that I concentrate on AA MC for the lifetime status goals. My Chairman is only used for the benefits or concierge.

I just started travelling on DL heavily in 2005. Before that it was AA. I got free CRC membership as a DL Platinum in 2005 and 2006. This year I would have to pay DL.
